Why I paint

Art has always been a big part of my life and I am inspired by all things that are natural and true.

My love for natural beauty has led me to paint subjects such as the ocean, trees, and the human hand.  My favorite medium to paint with is oil.  Its creamy texture, blending capabilities, and slowness to dry are the main reasons it is my weapon of choice. I also enjoy creating fineliner art. There is something almost therapeutic about working slowly and focusing on creating very detailed lines.  I even find the repetitiveness  of the process relaxing.

What has been the most rewarding is having someone tell me that a painting moved them in some way. 

This is why I paint.  

I want my paintings to speak for themselves. Rarely do I share my intentions or meaning behind a painting.  I want the viewer to take away whatever emotion or thought that was naturally provoked.
